Analysis of Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide by GC-IRMS

Picture
Sample types
SIRFER provides analysis of δ13C and δ18O of atmospheric carbon dioxide as well as provides measurement of atmospheric carbon dioxide  concentration  using a Thermo Finnigan Delta Plus Advantage (IRMS) connected with a GC with auto-sampler via GC/TC interphase. SIRFER also provides analysis of
δ13C of carbon dioxide in headspace vials using Finnigan Delta Plus (IRMS) connected to a Finnigan GasBench II with GC-TC PAL auto-sampler.

Sample preparation

SIRFER uses custom made 100 ml two arm glass flasks for atmospheric δ13C, δ18O and carbon dioxide concentration analysis. Please contact the SIRFER manager to arrange for us to ship a set of flasks for use in your project.

For headspace
δ13C analysis please use 12 ml Labco glass exetainers with septa caps. Sample CO2 concentration needs to be above 1500 ppm and below 50,000 ppm.

Samples should be shipped to SIRFER as described here. A request for analysis and sample ID list should be emailed to us at the time of shipping.
